Due to their great popularity most of the tuition is delivered through private classes. All clients have a weekly private session at our base in Canton, Cardiff. The sessions are usually half an hour in length and take place at the same time every week. Sessions are held in school term time from 4.30pm to 8.30pm Monday to Friday evenings and are booked and paid for half a term at a time, the half terms usually being 6 or 7 weeks long.

Short-notice intensive training sessions can be arranged during weekday mornings. Two and three hour intensive sessions can be booked from 10.00am in term time and at any time during the weeks of the school holidays. A limited number of Sunday afternoon and Bank Holiday sessions are also available. All intensive sessions are designed to be booked at short notice and dates are often available as little as a week in advance. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

All the training is one-to-one, whether for adults or children. However, it is possible for adults to come with a friend or spouse, or for younger children to share a lesson with a sibling. For children’s lessons it is strongly advised that a parent remains in the lesson at all times so that they can make notes and participate more fully in their child’s learning. Older children often prefer to have the lesson on their own without their parent’s presence. Please note: Helen has been fully CRB checked. For all clients, work to be practised will be emailed to them at the end of the session.

Clients who cannot attend in person can access training via Skype from anywhere in the world. This is also very useful for people who have a very busy schedule and who wish to fit their training in around their other commitments. Clients based in the local area, or who are just visiting Cardiff, may attend for an intensive session in person and then continue their training via Skype. Regular evening clients who suffer transport problems or who are too ill to attend one week can also have their session using the web cam so that they never have to miss a lesson.

For the adults we record the whole session in high quality MP3 format and put it onto Dropbox to be retrieved and used for further home practice. This means that you do not have to spend time taking notes, you do not have to remember everything and, most importantly, you start to really listen to the sound of your own voice. Gradually you begin to learn to be objective about your voice and speech and hear the changes that are taking place. You can listen to the recording and have your lesson over and over again, making it even more valuable.

Fees and Cancellation Policy

Fees for the regular evening sessions are £17/half hour for younger children and £18/half hour for adults.

It is possible for younger siblings to share a slot and for adults to come with a friend or spouse. Fees for these sessions start at £20/half hour for two children and £25/half hour for two adults sharing.

Speech Therapy for adults is £20/half hour and for children is £18/half hour.

Fees are paid in advance by the half term, and since this varies according to the school term you simply multiply the fee per lesson by the number of weeks in each half term. Half terms are generally six or seven weeks long, although they can vary from four to eight weeks in length. Please note that all absences and cancellations must be paid for. No refunds are given for missed sessions and unfortunately there is no capacity in the system to reschedule them. A minimum notice period of two weeks’ before the end of term is required of your intention to finish your course of lessons. Failure to give the required notice would mean that you will be liable for two week’s fees in lieu of notice.

For short notice intensive training the first session is £140 for two hours and £190 for three. Sunday afternoon and Bank Holiday sessions are £190 for two hours and £250 for three hours. At their first session clients will be given a free USB Memory Stick on which we record the sessions as an MP3 file for further home practice. All subsequent recordings will be placed on Dropbox to be downloaded during the following week.

Skype sessions are £70/hour for weekdays and £95/hour on Sunday afternoons and Bank Holidays.

Corporate training at your own premises starts at £300 for three hours for one individual.

Fees can be paid by cash, cheque or bank transfer. Unfortunately there is no facility to pay by credit card. Please make cheques payable to Helen Love.

For the regular evening sessions it is necessary to put your name on the waiting list to wait for a vacancy to arise. The waiting time varies so please contact us in order to put your name on the list.

The intensive and Skype sessions are designed to be booked at short notice and dates are often available as little as a week in advance. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and for current availability.
